Performance Nutritionist

Tanya Kumar is an experienced Performance Nutritionist who has worked in a number of elite sporting environments including British Diving as a consultant and as part of the UK Sports Institute team. 

She has supported British divers at both junior and senior levels over two Olympic cycles enabling her to have an in-depth understanding of the needs of the sport and the athletes to enable them perform at the highest level.

Optimising nutrition strategies for sports performance when travelling 

A talk about managing nutrition intake for optimal recovery, performance and body composition management in a sport that involves significant periods of travel across different time zones with a variety of cultures, facilities & infrastructure.

The role of female physiological factors in optimising energy availability in young athletes

This would be a talk on the understanding of female physiology and how it interacts with energy status in female athletes. I would talk about female physiological factors while Tanya will describe nutritional strategies and practical applications. 

Harnessing monitoring data to inform performance planning – an MDT approach
(presenting with Gareth Ziyambi and Sahana Gopal)

This would be a talk on how we use various physical monitoring data across physiotherapy , S&C & Nutrition to make more informed decisions while programming for performance. We would describe what can be monitored and how it can best be used in various contexts to improve performance.
