Dr Sahana Gopal is a scientist turned strength and conditioning coach, with her work primarily focused on the World Class Performance program for British Diving since 2018. She is also the CEO of UNRACK, a manufacturer of high quality strength training equipment based out of India, which aims to build next gen training tools.
She continues to contribute extensively to the area of female athlete health within the aquatics sports, through her previous work as a founding member in developing a female exercise physiology database for a femtech start up. Previously she completed a PhD in Biomedical Science and Engineering from Imperial College London.
Sahana will have there three presentations:
A practical guide for incorporating olympic weightlifting in diving sports performance
This would be a talk on how to incorporate olympic weightlifting and derivatives into S&C programming for diving – including what options are available, how to program, and building a framework for decision making around weightlifting for sports performance.
The role of female physiological factors in optimising energy availability in young athletes

This would be a talk on the understanding of female physiology and how it interacts with energy status in female athletes. I would talk about female physiological factors while Tanya will describe nutritional strategies and practical applications.
Harnessing monitoring data to inform performance planning – an MDT approach

This would be a talk on how we use various physical monitoring data across physiotherapy , S&C & Nutrition to make more informed decisions while programming for performance. We would describe what can be monitored and how it can best be used in various contexts to improve performance.
