Maria is a teacher in swimming and movement. She educates both swimmers of all ages, parents and swim instructors. She is the author of some educational materials for the Danish swimming associations.
Maria works with both the art of teaching and importance of playing. She is always chasing the “why?”. Why do we do, what we do? And why do we learn differently from the same experience? The “why” can make us realize what and how we learn best and make us aware of our blind spots and learning resistance.
This way of thinking is seen in the way Maria teaches. She engages people, making them curious and reflective. Maria aims for making the “geeky stuff” (theory and research) edible and easy to understand and use. As a teacher Maria inspires to find the joy in learning. With a loving push she seeks to inspire to never stop learning and playing.
With a Master in Physical activity and health, Maria combines heart, brain and body in teaching and learning.
Maria uses aspects such as identity processes, cognitive dissonance and biographical reflection to achieve better implementation of education, courses and coaching.
As a swim teacher and educator of swim instructors, clubs in both Denmark and abroad has benefited from Marias teaching methods and creativity.
