Lauren Boyle

Biography

Lauren Boyle is a three-time Olympian and FINA World Championship medalist (1x gold, 2x silver, 4x bronze) from New Zealand. Lauren won World Short Course gold 800m free in 2012 and, as a top distance freestyler, broke the world record over 1500m Short Course in 2014. 

Her background includes a fourth at the London Olympics and she was part of UC Berkeley’s NCAA women’s team that won 2009 NCAA Championships. Lauren trained internationally with coaches in NZ, USA, Spain and Australia. Following Rio she retired due to injury in 2017 and moved into institutional banking with Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Based in Auckland, she stays involved with swimming through mentoring young swimmers, coaching and some governance work.
