Egil Galaaen Gjølme (NOR) is an Associate Professor in Sport and Physical Education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway.
He is the leader of the research project Water Competence which includes several aims and focus areas: 1. Promoting water competence among new Norwegians, 2. development of a national competence and training system for outdoor swimming and lifesaving, and 3. development of the app “actioswim” for use as a tool in the teaching method flipped learning. Egil is both a developer and co-owner of the aforementioned app “actioswim”. He also has a practical background in lifesaving and kayaking.
